Hiking Cotopaxi in the Andes Mountains, Ecuador
Today I embarked on a journey to the stratovolcano Cotopaxi. It's the second highest peak in Ecuador. After a bumpy, two-hour drive, I was ready to rock the mountain. Turns out altitude and I don't mesh, so Cotopaxi and all of it's 19,347 ft rocked me. And I was only at 17,500 ft.

I'm actually a bit embarrassed about the way I handled the altitude sickness. Only when I haven't eaten in 10 hours do I normally get this grumpy -- I swear. Next time, I'll know to acclimatize better to the high elevation before attempting to scale a mountain. C'est la vie! >> Dizzy, Nausea, Anxiety: Hiking is Fun! <<
