Welcome to The World in One Minute™
The World in One Minute (TW1M) is a 60-second online travel show dedicated to featuring places, experiences and events from around the globe. Each video allows the viewer a quick, one-minute virtual escape from his/her day... and into ours across the globe.
Finding the Surf, Sunshine & Sand (Montanita, Ecuador) [4.06.08] Sunshine and surfing -- few words complement each other so nicely. I loved Montanita immediately, and not just because there's no altitude effecting the oxygen to my brain. The vibe is chill, people cool, the waves are sweet -- making the sleepy little beach town a great stop in Ecuador.
What Guayaquil Has to Offer (Guayaquil, Ecuador) [posted 3.13.08] While Guayaquil may not be the sexiest city in the world, it definitely has some seedy charm and unique charisma. The largest city in Ecuador is on the up-and-up and here's a quick peek at what it's all about. Oh, and we also discovered why the hotel was such a great bargain...
Hiking Cotopaxi in the Andes Mountains, Ecuador [posted 2.08.08] Today I embarked on a journey to the stratovolcano Cotopaxi. It's the second highest peak in Ecuador. After a bumpy, two-hour drive, I was ready to rock the mountain. Turns out altitude and I don't mesh, so Cotopaxi and all of it's 19,347 ft rocked me. And I was only at 17,500 ft.
The New Year's Eve Experience in Quito, Ecuador [posted 2.05.08]
As a New Yorker, I appreciate and expect a stellar New Year's Eve celebration. Quito did not disappoint. Summing it up in three words: food, fireworks and fires. The vibe was lively, the crowd was great and the experience was unlike anything else I've experienced before.
Exploring the "Old Town" in Quito, Ecuador [posted 1.30.08]
Today I bounced around what's called the Old Town. It's the historical center of Ecuador -- some say the best-preserved historic center in all of Latin America. Saw a lot of churches (shocker!) and the beginning rumblings of the New Years celebration. Oh. Yeah.
Riding the Teleferico in Quito, Ecuador [posted 1.21.08] Zipping up the side of a mountain (3600 feet in 10 minutes) is a efficient way to get around, but the altitude catches pretty quick. Thin as the air was, it was the vistas that were breathtaking. At 13,300 ft, you can see Quito and the surrounding volcanos.
